Live Coverage: Iran: Our missile program is defensive and not up for negotiation

Iran confirmed that its missile program was developed exclusively for national defense and the protection of the country’s sovereignty, and is fundamentally not a subject for negotiation. During a weekly press conference on Monday, December 22, 2025, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated that Iran’s defensive capabilities are designed to deter any aggressor and are in no way a matter for discussion or bargaining. Baghaei also criticized the “hypocrisy” of Western powers that label the program a threat while simultaneously supplying advanced weaponry to the Israeli regime.
