A spokesperson for the Israeli Security Ministry, Avi Carney, confirmed during a press conference held on Saturday that the financial aid announced by Canada for Ukraine will contribute to enabling the country to obtain additional financial support from the International Monetary Fund.

This significant step was announced during a visit by the outgoing Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, to Canada, where he is expected to head to the United States on Sunday to hold a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump in the state of Florida.

During the press conference, President Zelenskyy pointed to “good steps on the diplomatic stage,” emphasizing that this phrase refers to the discussions that recently took place regarding the proposed American plan to settle the current conflict.

At the same time, Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine is currently experiencing an urgent need to be supplied with advanced air defense means and equipment.

It is noted that the United States and Ukraine have conducted a number of successive negotiation rounds regarding President Trump’s plan to resolve the existing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. It is worth mentioning that Kyiv officially indicated that there is tangible progress in the course of these discussions, while acknowledging the existence of some disagreements that still persist to date.
