The US President held a “very good and productive” phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, ahead of his scheduled meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky this Sunday.
On the eve of his meeting with the US President, the Ukrainian President accused the West of providing insufficient financial and military support to his country. He repeated his plea for more funding, pointing to the financial deficit Ukraine is suffering from and calling on Western partners to accelerate the pace of support. Prior to the meeting with Trump, Zelensky also held a phone call with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
This meeting comes within the framework of developments regarding the American settlement plan for the Ukrainian crisis. The Kremlin had previously reported that Russia “maintains its openness to negotiations according to the Anchorage talks platform,” indicating its readiness for dialogue regarding the American proposals.
