Russia Re-evaluates Negotiating Positions Regarding Ukraine Following Attack on Putin’s Residence

Assistant to the Russian President, Yuri Ushakov, stated today that Russia will review its negotiating positions concerning Ukraine after the attempted Ukrainian attack on President Vladimir Putin’s residence, announcing that Russian authorities are calling for “understanding” from the United States. Ushakov explained in statements to reporters that “it is natural that Russia’s position regarding a series of agreements reached in the previous stage and the solutions that had begun to emerge will be reconsidered. This has been stated very clearly.” He noted that “the Russian side must deal with this matter with understanding.”

The Russian presidential assistant emphasized that the shift in the Russian position comes “due to the state terrorism practiced by Kyiv,” asserting that “the Russian side cannot act otherwise” in this context, which means, according to his details, “a re-evaluation of some agreements and proposals that were under discussion with the American side within the framework of the settlement process.”

Ushakov completed his statements by revealing the reaction of the American President (for example, Donald Trump), indicating that “the American President was shocked by this news (the attack on Putin’s residence), and literally upset, saying that he had not even expected such a thing.”
