## Syrian President thanks the Egyptian people for welcoming Syrian refugees during the war
Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa expressed praise and appreciation for the Egyptian people for their warm hosting of Syrian refugees during the period of war in Syria.
This came during his meeting with a delegation from the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce in the capital, Damascus, where al-Sharaa said: “I thank the Egyptian people for their warm reception of Syrian refugees.”
He emphasized that this behavior is not foreign to the character of Egyptians, whom history has known for their generosity and sophistication. He stressed that Egypt was one of the countries where Syrians felt most comfortable, considering they were “among their own family.”
He further explained, “I lived at home on the Egyptian tone, and I have an attachment to it and a sense of belonging to it.”
Al-Sharaa also stressed that economic stability in Egypt and Syria represents stability for the entire region and will reflect positively on all other matters, whether security, politics, or strategy.
The Syrian capital hosted yesterday, Sunday, the first “Syrian-Egyptian Economic Forum,” which aims to enhance trade and investment cooperation and establish joint projects between the two countries.
