Iraqi Army takes full control of Ain al-Asad base following U.S. withdrawal

The Iraqi Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday that the Iraqi army will take over the full management of the Ain al-Asad base (in the west of the country) following the U.S. withdrawal, as reported by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

The Ministry stated, in a release published by the Iraqi News Agency, that “the Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, supervised today the distribution of tasks and duties among the military branches and formations at Ain al-Asad base, after the withdrawal of U.S. forces and the Iraqi army’s full takeover of the base’s management.”
