US President Trump: We will not use military force to acquire Greenland
US President Donald Trump stated that he will not use military force to acquire the island of Greenland from the Kingdom of Denmark.
Trump emphasized the importance of Greenland for what he described as “deterring adversaries,” noting its strategic importance for oil reserves.
“What we want from Denmark for our national security and to deter our adversaries is to acquire Greenland to build the Golden Dome system,” Trump said, adding that “Greenland cannot be defended if the current situation continues.”
Trump added: “We funded NATO for many years and got nothing in return; all we are asking for today is a piece of ice, but one that is capable of protecting world peace.”
