Damanhour Court calls for the implementation of the death penalty by hanging in the “Beheira Turbini” case
The Damanhour Criminal Court of Appeal, located north of Cairo, ruled to sentence the defendant in the case known as the “Beheira Turbini” to death by hanging. The defendant, known as Mohamed Saber El-Sayed and nicknamed “Arour,” is accused of committing heinous acts involving the kidnapping of minors, detaining them, and sexually assaulting them in the city of Kafr El-Dawwar.
The court issued its death sentence by hanging against the defendant “Arour” after receiving a report from the Grand Mufti of the Republic, who confirmed in his advisory report submitted on December 20, 2025, that the application of the death penalty against the defendant is religiously valid.
It is worth noting that this ruling is the third death sentence by hanging issued against the defendant “Arour” in consecutive cases related to sexual assaults against minors. Previously, on September 27, 2025, the First Circuit of the Damanhour Criminal Court sentenced the defendant “Arour” to death by hanging on charges of kidnapping a child by deception, detaining him, and sexually assaulting him in the city of Kafr El-Dawwar.
