American golfer Scheffler achieves historic feat by winning PGA Tour Player of the Year for four consecutive years
Scheffler joins Tiger Woods as the only two players to achieve this feat
American golfer Scottie Scheffler has achieved a historic milestone, becoming the second player to win the PGA Tour Player of the Year award for four consecutive seasons, following legendary golfer Tiger Woods.
The 29-year-old American won on six occasions during 2025, including major championships “The Masters” and the “PGA Championship.” He recorded the best top-10 finish rate on the PGA Tour and did not miss a single cut throughout the season.
Scheffler is the second player to win the prestigious Jack Nicklaus Award four consecutive times, after Tiger Woods (who won it five consecutive times between 1999 and 2003, and 11 times overall).
The world number one was voted the winner by PGA Tour members, finishing ahead of fellow American Ben Griffin, England’s Tommy Fleetwood, and Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy.
Jay Monahan, PGA Tour Commissioner, said: “Scottie Scheffler’s level of sustained success has been nothing short of spectacular as he continues to chase history on the PGA Tour, and we are excited to see what he achieves in 2026.”
South African Aldrich Potgieter received the Arnold Palmer Award as the PGA Tour Rookie of the Year, following a season in which he secured qualification for the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
Potgieter is the third South African to win this award, joining the ranks of major winners Ernie Els (1994) and Trevor Immelman (2006).
