Israeli Anger Over the Anticipated British Move

A group of Israeli politicians expressed strong positions against the anticipated decision by the British government to impose a “comprehensive trade ban” on Israeli settlements in the West Bank.

Israeli Finance Minister “Bezalel Smotrich,” who belongs to the far right, called for the immediate expulsion of the British ambassador, saying: “We will not be a scapegoat trampled by an antisemitic government in a country occupied by radical Islam, seeking to survive economic and social collapse by attacking Jews and the State of Israel. The British Mandate in the Land of Israel is over.”

For his part, Israeli National Security Minister “Itamar Ben-Gvir,” who belongs to the far right, launched an attack on Britain, calling on Israel to recognize Argentina’s sovereignty over the Malvinas (Falkland) Islands.

“Ben-Gvir” said: “It is time for the State of Israel to publicly recognize that the Malvinas Islands are occupied Argentine territories, violently stolen by the British from the Argentine people.”

He added that the British “are not content with territorial occupation alone, but are also carrying out oil drilling operations there and stealing money from the Argentine people.”

“Ben-Gvir” called on Israeli Prime Minister “Benjamin Netanyahu” to recognize Argentina’s sovereignty over the islands and even impose sanctions on Britain “as long as it continues the occupation,” according to his description.

British Foreign Secretary “Ed Miliband” is scheduled to announce on Tuesday before the House of Commons a comprehensive trade ban on Israeli settlements in the West Bank, including a ban on the exchange of goods and services with them, in addition to imposing sanctions on British institutions and individuals involved in financing, constructing, or promoting settlements in the Palestinian territories.
