Citizen apprehended for lighting a fire outside designated areas in the Imam Faisal bin Turki Royal Reserve

The Special Forces for Environmental Security apprehended a citizen in violation of the environmental system for failing to comply with instructions and guidelines for preserving vegetation cover by lighting a fire in non-designated areas within the Imam Faisal bin Turki Royal Reserve. The applicable legal procedures have been implemented against him.

The forces emphasized that the penalty for lighting fires in non-designated areas, such as forests and national parks, can reach a fine of (3,000) riyals. They also urged the public to report any cases representing an assault on the environment or wildlife. Reports can be made via (911) in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and via (999) and (996) in the rest of the Kingdom’s regions. They noted that all reports will receive strictly confidential treatment with no liability for the reporter.
