Red Alert for Adverse Weather and Flash Floods in Makkah and Al-Baha Regions

The National Center of Meteorology issued several red alerts today, Friday, forecasting heavy and torrential rainfall, coinciding with the formation of dense fog affecting horizontal visibility in various regions of the Kingdom.

The red alert included the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region, specifically Taif governorate, where the center expects the area to be affected by heavy rain accompanied by high-speed winds, lack of horizontal visibility, hail, flash floods, and thunderstorms. The alert is expected to continue until 11:00 PM today, Friday, to be followed by dense fog lasting until 9:00 AM next Saturday. It is noted that the region is currently under a red alert during this period.

The National Center of Meteorology also warned residents of the Al-Baha region, including Al-Baha city, Al-Qara, Al-Mandaq, Baljurashi, and Bani Hassan, of dense fog formation leading to a lack of horizontal visibility to approximately (1) kilometer or less. This warning is expected to continue until 10:00 AM next Saturday.
