Meeting Between Saudi Minister of Industry and Tunisian Minister of Economy to Discuss Enhancing Economic and Industrial Cooperation

The Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, held a meeting today with the Minister of Economy and Planning of the Tunisian Republic, Dr. Samir Abdelhafidh, within the framework of the executive work of the twelfth session of the Saudi-Tunisian Joint Committee hosted in Riyadh.

The discussions focused on ways to enhance economic and industrial integration between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Tunisia, while exploring the expansion of horizons for joint cooperation in a number of important strategic economic sectors.

The challenges facing exporters and investors in both countries were discussed, framing appropriate solutions to address them with the aim of contributing to the growth of intra-regional trade volume and as part of the two countries’ efforts to achieve sustainable development goals.

Both parties praised the role of the Saudi-Tunisian Joint Committee in driving economic and industrial integration, commending the efforts of the working groups and representatives of Saudi and Tunisian government entities, which contributed to including up to 100 topics within the committee’s minutes. These cover 15 areas of cooperation in various strategic sectors, led by energy, industry, mining, logistics, and trade, in addition to human resources development.

The meeting was attended by the Assistant Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Planning and Development, Dr. Abdullah Al-Ahmari, the CEO of the Saudi Export-Import Bank, Eng. Saad Al-Khalb, and the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Tunisia, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Saqr, along with several officials from both countries.

It is noted that the work of the twelfth session of the Saudi-Tunisian Joint Committee includes comprehensive discussions to enhance bilateral cooperation across several strategic sectors, including industry, mining, transport and logistics, the judiciary and justice, and the media.
