Pakistani resident caught red-handed for promoting “Shabu” in Makkah Al-Mukarramah
Security authorities reported that their patrols in the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region arrested a resident of Pakistani nationality who was caught red-handed in possession of a quantity of the narcotic substance methamphetamine, known as “Shabu,” while he was in the process of attempting to promote it.
The suspect was detained, the necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred to the competent authority to complete all investigations into the matter and take appropriate action within the framework of combating crime.
Security authorities emphasized their continued efforts to combat the smuggling and promotion of narcotic substances in their various forms and levels. At the same time, they called on all citizens and residents to cooperate with the relevant authorities by reporting any suspicious or concerning activities related to narcotics.
They explained that reporting can be done via the unified emergency number 911 in Makkah, the capital Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or via the unified emergency number 999 in the rest of the Kingdom’s regions. Direct communication with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control is also possible at 995 or via email at 995@gdnc.gov.sa.
The competent authorities stressed that all reports of suspicious activity are handled with complete confidentiality, and that the individual reporting any crime gains full legal immunity within the framework of the state’s policy calling for community cooperation to combat drugs.
