The number of electronic car rental contracts in the Kingdom rose to 1.7 million during the last quarter of 2025.
The General Transport Authority (TGA) revealed that unified electronic car rental contracts in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reached more than 1,700,000 contracts issued to individuals during the fourth quarter of 2025.
The car rental activity witnessed a significant increase during this quarter, recording a 9% rise compared to the same quarter last year, reflecting the growing demand for car rental services across various regions of the Kingdom.
The unified electronic car rental contract is considered an important tool that contributes to protecting the rights of both the lessor and the lessee. It also helps reduce potential disputes and conflicts, in addition to facilitating rental operations between both parties, thereby enhancing the efficiency and competitiveness of this vital sector.
According to data released by the General Transport Authority, the Riyadh region topped the list with the highest percentage of total registered contracts at 33.91%, followed by the Makkah region at 23.55%, then the Eastern Province at 15.28%. Meanwhile, the Asir region recorded 5.93%, followed by the Madinah region at 5.90%, the Qassim region at 4.62%, the Jazan region at 3.44%, and the Tabuk region at 2.72%.
The Hail region reached 1.33%, followed by the Najran region at 1.32%, then the Al-Jouf region at 0.88%, the Northern Borders region at 0.61%, and finally the Al-Baha region at 0.52%.
The Authority called on all licensed establishments in the car rental activity to benefit from the services of the “Tajeer” platform by accessing the “Naql Portal” website.
