Under the directives of Prince Khalid bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah Region, Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Region and Chairman of the Steering Committee for the Land Bridge Track in the region, chaired a meeting to review the project’s developments and ways to support its operations.
The Deputy Governor implemented instructions to form a technical committee emerging from the steering committee to follow up on the work, provide necessary support, and overcome all obstacles that may face implementation, according to the announcement followed by the Emirate on the (Twitter) platform.
The initiative aims to develop the railway network, which will connect Jeddah to Dammam via Riyadh, and link major ports and industrial centers such as Yanbu, Jubail, and King Abdullah Port, creating numerous job opportunities, in addition to establishing 7 massive logistical centers along the track to facilitate trade movement and the storage and distribution of goods.
A statement issued by the Makkah Region Emirate indicated that the meeting came as part of the Saudi government’s efforts to achieve Saudi Vision 2030 and enhance development in various fields, including transport and logistics.
