United Nations Secretary-General “Antonio Guterres” told “Al Arabiya/Al Hadath” on Sunday that he strongly condemns the Houthi attacks targeting infrastructure in Saudi Arabia. “Guterres” stressed the importance of respecting freedom of navigation, including in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, describing attacks targeting Saudi ships as “completely unacceptable.”
The United Nations Secretary-General stressed the need to respect navigation rights and freedom of navigation amid the tensions gripping the region. “Guterres” had received yesterday, Saturday, “Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi,” Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, on the sidelines of his participation in the meetings of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
During the meeting, both sides condemned Houthi militia attacks on Saudi Arabia and the targeting of civilian objects, affirming that such attacks threaten the security and stability of the region. They also discussed a number of regional issues and the efforts being made regarding them.
