British boxing champion Adam Azim faces Gustavo Lemos in London

London – United News Network – UNN: British boxing champion Adam Azim (23), the light-welterweight champion, will challenge his Argentine counterpart Gustavo Lemos in a mini-boxing match scheduled for January 31, as part of the second edition of the mini-Grand Prix organized by “BOXXER.”

The live match will be broadcast on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer, and will take place at the “Copper Box” Arena in the Olympic Park in London.

Azim will thrill the British boxing audience by being included in the “BOXXER” mini-card, following the excitement he has delivered in most of his matches.

London hosts the second edition of the mini-Grand Prix as part of a historic partnership between the BBC and “BOXXER,” after last month saw the rare return of professional boxing to British public television, thanks to Jimmy ‘TKV’ Tyers-Kanoute and Frazer Clarke appearing on the televised “BOXXER” card in November.

The boxing card featuring Adam Azim and Gustavo Lemos will include an undercard headlined by a significant opportunity for the brilliant British bantamweight Francesca Hennessy, who will face Ellie Scotney in a final eliminator for the WBC bantamweight world title held by Cherneka Johnson.

The British light-welterweight champion Adam Azim holds an impressive record, winning all 14 of his fights, 11 of them by knockout. However, meeting Gustavo Lemos is considered a step up in competition to reach the top tier of fighters in the boxing world.

Adam Azim’s last appearance was on the undercard of the Conor Benn vs. Chris Eubank Jr. event in November, where he secured a well-deserved points victory over his Canadian opponent, Kurt Scoby.
