Al-Nassr Coach Praises Team Performance and Substitutes; Al-Zawraa’s Guest Admits Technical Gaps

Al-Nassr’s Portuguese coach, Jorge Jesus, confirmed that his team delivered a great performance characterized by a distinguished level from the players, crowned with a victory to continue their winning streak in the continental championship.

In a press conference held after the match—in which Al-Nassr defeated Iraq’s Al-Zawraa 5-1 at the conclusion of the AFC Champions League group stage—Jesus said: “The match was excellent on our part, especially since it came after a 28-day break. We will begin our preparations for the next match, which takes place in three days in the Saudi League.”

Jesus praised his players and their performance during the encounter, emphasizing the excellence of the substitute players, noting they are internationals, which provides additional strength and that he will need them significantly in upcoming matches.

For his part, Al-Zawraa’s assistant coach, Hussam Fawzi, stated that the result was realistic given the clear technical differences between the two teams in favor of Al-Nassr.

Fawzi said: “We have problems in the attack and defense lines; consequently, we did not perform better. We deserved the loss against an Al-Nassr team that I strongly nominate to win the championship title.”
