Al-Ittihad first football team defeated its guest, Al-Shabab, with a score of 2-0 in a match that brought the two teams together on Saturday evening, concluding the 11th round of the Saudi Roshn Pro League at “Al-Inma” Stadium in King Abdullah Sports City, Jeddah, officiated by referee Mohammed Al-Hoaish.
The match saw early attempts from Al-Shabab to open the scoring, as Abdullah Matuq missed a prime goal opportunity in the second minute following a defensive error by Al-Ittihad.
On the other side, Al-Ittihad managed to take the lead in the 16th minute through Ahmed Al-Ghamdi, who capitalized on a cross from his teammate Roger Fernandes to score the first goal.
A brilliant save by Al-Shabab goalkeeper Grohe maintained the one-goal gap in the 27th minute against a shot from “Al-Ameed” captain Karim Benzema. Additionally, the post denied a shot from Muhannad Al-Shanqiti in the 29th minute, ending the first half with Al-Ittihad leading 1-0.
In the second half, Al-Ittihad player Bergwijn extended his team’s lead in the final moments, scoring the second goal in the 85th minute to secure the match for his team with two goals to nil.
With this result, Al-Ittihad surpassed its 17th point to occupy sixth place, while Al-Shabab remained at its previous tally of 8 points, sitting in thirteenth place.
