Warning: Sunlight Reflection from Water Doubles Danger and Increases UV Exposure by 50%
Dr. Fahad Al-Khodairy, a specialist in carcinogen research, warned of the danger of sunlight reflecting off the water’s surface, confirming that this doubles the rate of ultraviolet (UV) radiation exposure by 50%.
Dr. Al-Khodairy explained that ultraviolet rays pose multiple health risks, most notably causing skin spots and increasing the likelihood of skin cancer when subjected to extreme and high exposure.
He pointed out that this danger increases when passing by lakes or water bodies, as sunlight reflects from the water’s surface directly onto the face and exposed parts of the body.
Al-Khodairy called for care in avoiding this type of exposure as much as possible and taking the necessary precautions to protect against ultraviolet rays to maintain public health.
