US President Trump Announces Phone Call with Russian Counterpart Putin Before Anticipated Meeting with Zelensky
President Donald Trump announced that he held a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, prior to his crucial meeting scheduled for today with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Trump wrote on his “Truth Social” platform: “I just had a very good and productive phone call with President Putin before my meeting, at 1:00 PM today, with President Zelensky.”
Trump noted that the meeting with President Zelensky will be held in the main dining room of his prominent “Mar-a-Lago” resort, in the presence of several journalists.
The phone call between Trump and Putin comes at a time when the region is experiencing an increase in the pace of conflict, amid a continuous barrage of missiles and drones.
