2 Min Read

Sources from within Al-Ahli Club confirmed that the Director of Football, Walid Salah El-Din, decided to double the fines stipulated in the team’s internal regulations for the early exit from the Egypt Cup, in coordination with board member Sayed Abdel Hafeez. The sources indicated that these fines are considered the largest in recent times, given the unacceptable performance displayed by the team and the very early exit from the tournament, of which Al-Ahli is the historic champion with 39 titles.

The same sources stated that the penalties include an additional deduction on top of the basic fine specified in the regulations, explaining that they apply to the players who participated in the last match, with a particular focus on the poor level and defensive errors that led to conceding two late goals. Sunday’s match, which ended in a 2-1 victory for the Egyptian Communications team (Second Division), witnessed the biggest surprise of the Egypt Cup and officially knocked Al-Ahli out of the tournament.

Al-Ahli team resumes its technical preparations to face Al-Mokawloon Al-Arab in the Egypt Capital Cup, after its exit from the Egypt Cup with a 2-1 result against the Egyptian Communications team. Al-Ahli enters its match against Al-Mokawloon at 8:00 PM next Tuesday, as part of the fourth round of the Egypt Capital Cup, which will take place at Al-Salam Stadium.
