Slovenian player Nejc Gradišar opened the scoring for Al Ahly in the 43rd minute with a brilliant shot into the top corner from outside the penalty area.
However, Tala’ea El Gaish responded by scoring two consecutive goals through players Mohamed Atef and Fares Hatem in the 58th and 79th minutes, respectively, at Al Salam Stadium in Cairo.
With this result, Tala’ea El Gaish succeeded in turning the tables on Al Ahly, securing a 2-1 victory in the Egypt Capital Cup.
This win comes within the matches of the tournament’s seventh round, which concluded with Tala’ea El Gaish officially qualifying for the quarter-finals, leading the standings with 13 points.
On the other hand, Al Ahly exited the competition after their tally stopped at 6 points, occupying sixth place (second to last) in the standings.
