Al-Sarami Threatens Al-Hilal Legends: 10 Days to Leave Al-Nassr Alone or I Will Open the 0-8 Historical Defeat File

Statements by Saud Al-Sarami—one of the Saudi national team players during the historical 0-8 defeat against Germany in the 2002 World Cup—have sparked widespread controversy in the Saudi sports scene.

Al-Sarami’s remarks came in response to the attack launched by the Al-Hilal trio—Nawaf Al-Temyat, Mohamed Al-Deayea, and Sami Al-Jaber—against Portuguese manager Jorge Jesus (Al-Nassr’s head coach), following Jesus’s comments about Al-Hilal possessing what he described as “media power outside the pitch.” Those comments prompted Al-Hilal’s management to announce a formal complaint against him, considering his words “unacceptable slanders.”

In radio statements, Saud Al-Sarami asserted that what happened in the Saudi Arabia vs. Germany match in the 2002 World Cup does not expire by the statute of limitations, stressing the right of the sporting public to know the circumstances of that historical encounter.

Al-Sarami emphasized that the national team conceded 8 goals, 5 of which were headers, in a match where Mohamed Al-Deayea served as goalkeeper, and Nawaf Al-Temyat and Sami Al-Jaber were part of the starting lineup.

In his warning to the Al-Hilal legends, he said: “I give Nawaf Al-Temyat, Mohamed Al-Deayea, and Sami Al-Jaber 10 days to leave Al-Nassr alone, or I will open the 0/8 file,” referring to the historical defeat suffered by the national team against Germany in the 2002 World Cup.

Al-Sarami criticized the Al-Hilal trio’s appearance in analysis studios to attack Jesus, considering it a departure from their primary role in match analysis and a redirection of the discussion toward a path that does not serve the Saudi sports scene.

Saud Al-Sarami concluded that what is happening represents an attempt to exploit what he described as the weakness of Al-Nassr’s management, inciting against Jorge Jesus with the aim of forcing him to leave and leaving the club in an administrative and technical vacuum.
