President Donald Trump addressed a press audience in a lengthy press conference to discuss a range of important international files and his country’s relations with friendly nations, in addition to showcasing his achievements in foreign and domestic policy.

Trump described his Syrian counterpart, Ahmed al-Sharaa, as a strong and hard-working person, confirming that he spoke with him yesterday regarding prisoners in his country. He also touched upon numerous files concerning countries including Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, and Venezuela.

Trump spoke about his policies on immigration and the economy, his achievements in foreign affairs, and his country’s current relations with Venezuela, whose president, Nicolás Maduro—whom he described as a drug dealer—was arrested.

Trump stated that he has “accomplished much more than any other administration in terms of ending wars,” noting that he ended eight wars and prevented fighting between Egypt and Ethiopia over the dam built by the latter on the Nile. However, he claimed the United Nations did not help him in that regard and that he did not receive a peace prize.

He emphasized that he succeeded in returning all the Israeli captives and the bodies of those killed in the Gaza Strip, and established the Peace Council to manage the affairs of the Gaza Strip and achieve stability there.

Regarding Iran, Trump indicated that he “eliminated Iran’s nuclear capabilities and its subversive capabilities.” In response to a question about the military strike he threatened following popular protests, he said, “They were going to hang 800 people and they decided not to do it… we don’t know what will happen in the future.”

On the subject of Somalia, he returned to describing Somalia as the worst country in the world and attacked U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar, calling her a “corrupt congresswoman.”

Regarding his country’s relations with Venezuela, whose president Nicolás Maduro was arrested and described by Trump as a drug dealer, Trump said that “the interim president (Delcy Rodríguez) has done a wonderful job,” confirming that oil companies are preparing to pump massive investments into Venezuela. He noted that one of the reasons for his forceful move against Venezuela was the opening of prisons and the pushing of migrants to immigrate to the United States of America.

In the context of speaking about his domestic achievements, Trump said he achieved accelerated economic growth and succeeded in reducing the U.S. budget deficit by 27%, while the trade deficit decreased by 77% through the use of tariffs, and U.S. exports increased by about $150 billion.

Among the successes of his economic policies that he reviewed at length, he said his country is building thousands of factories across the United States, and that drug prices in the United States will drop lower than ever before.

On the other hand, U.S. President Trump said that jobs were going to irregular migrants and that, during his term, they would return to Americans.
