Former Trump Advisor Confirms: Greenland Will Remain Greenland.

Gary Cohn, IBM Vice Chairman, former Director of the National Economic Council at the White House, and one of President Donald Trump’s most prominent advisors during his first term, confirmed that Greenland will remain a Danish possession and maintain its independence from the United States.

Cohn told the BBC News World Service that “Greenland will remain Greenland” and that this aligns with the American vision which seeks to influence Danish behavior regarding disputed territories.

Cohn, considered a top tech official in America and a pioneer in the race to develop Artificial Intelligence and quantum computing, stressed that “the invasion of an independent country that is part of NATO will eventually reach an end.”

In a sign of how dissatisfied economic leaders are with American escalation, Cohn warned that any attempt to recognize Greenland as an independent state would remain “outside the scope of available systems.”

Cohn suggested that the United States would consider Greenland a “strategic security element for it” and that it would join NATO to bolster its security. He mentioned that “Denmark would be happy with an increased U.S. military presence in the Arctic region.”

Cohn proposed that the U.S. President’s recent statements about Greenland were “part of a negotiation process.”

“I have just arrived from a high-level meeting with members of the U.S. Congress, and I believe there is almost universal agreement between Democrats and Republicans that Greenland will remain Greenland,” Cohn said, adding that increasing the U.S. military size in the Arctic would be very beneficial for the NATO partner, Denmark.

Cohn noted that the Trump administration has “various purposes and interests” in this regard, and that the decision to intervene in Venezuela was a “step on the path” to influence “China’s relationship with Venezuela, the largest market for its raw materials, in addition to Russia and Cuba.”

Cohn pointed out that President Trump has become increasingly focused on the importance of precious minerals, explaining that “Greenland possesses very large quantities of these resources.”

These minerals, as Cohn stated, play “a vital role in the development of Artificial Intelligence and quantum computing.”

He mentioned that “Google, another American company, confirmed to the BBC earlier this month that it possesses the best quantum computer in the world. The competition to develop these technologies, alongside the affairs of Greenland, are among the most important topics raised by the World Economic Forum.”
