New documentary series highlights the heritage of royal hunting and falconry on Al Thaqafiya Channel
The new documentary program “Kings and Falcons,” which will be broadcast starting at 4:00 PM every Friday on Al Thaqafiya Channel, is distinguished by reviving the stories of hunting (Maghnis) and falconry among the royal family members and leaders of the Kingdom, through accurate visual and historical readings.
The program is led by the historical researcher and media figure Adnan bin Saleh Al-Tarif, using a documented narrative style that adheres to accurately linking the narration with the image, making the content function as a storytelling experience that reconstructs the memory related to royal hunts.
The program relies on high-quality testimonies provided by the sons and grandsons of the Kings, along with a number of their Royal Highnesses the Princes, in addition to figures who lived through those hunts and experienced the details of that era. This diversity gave the work a distinctive historical depth and makes it stand out from traditional documentary programs.
The program features the presentation of rare archival glimpses shown for the first time, revealing a human and cultural side of the leaders’ lives, and documenting moments that remained inaccessible for decades. The work on the program spanned a full year, during which narratives were collected, sources were retrieved, and interviews were conducted that shed light on this historical heritage from its less circulated angles.
“Kings and Falcons” provides content that combines precise documentation and calm narration, within a work that reflects the value of this heritage in the national memory and reconstructs it using modern visual language.
