Saudi personnel continue providing services at Félix Houphouët-Boigny Airport under the “Makkah Route” initiative to facilitate pilgrims’ journey
Saudi teams continue their operational work at Félix Houphouët-Boigny International Airport in the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire as part of the “Makkah Route” initiative, through an integrated system aimed at facilitating procedures for the Guests of God and enabling them to complete all Hajj requirements before heading to the Kingdom. This reflects the ongoing development of services provided to pilgrims arriving from countries benefiting from the initiative.
Saudi teams have carried out their field duties using modern operational systems, including completing passport procedures, verifying data, coding and sorting luggage, in addition to providing technical support and logistical services. This contributes to speeding up procedures and offering a smoother and more comfortable travel experience for pilgrims from the moment they arrive at the airport until their departure to the Kingdom.
WAS media captured the views of several participants in the initiative, who confirmed that serving the Guests of God is a source of pride and honor. They noted that continuous coordination between relevant authorities contributes to improving efficiency and service quality within the initiative halls, ensuring pilgrims’ comfort and ease of movement.
Several pilgrims benefiting from the initiative also expressed their happiness with the level of organization and smooth procedures, confirming that the speed of processing and facilitation of travel steps reduced the burden of the journey and gave them a sense of reassurance before heading to the Kingdom to perform Hajj rituals.
The “Makkah Route” initiative comes as part of the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to enhance services for the Guests of God by adopting advanced digital solutions and developing operational procedures, in line with Saudi Vision objectives to provide a smooth and safe Hajj experience starting from the country of departure until arrival at the Two Holy Mosques.
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Interior is implementing the initiative in its eighth year in cooperation with several government entities, including the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Health, Hajj and Umrah, and Media, as well as the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, SDAIA, the Guests of God Service Program, the General Directorate of Passports, and in partnership with stc Group. Since its launch in 2017, more than 1.25 million pilgrims have benefited from the initiative.
