German tourist receives compensation due to shortage of sun loungers at a Greek hotel
A Greek court has ruled to award a German tourist approximately $1,100 in compensation, after his family faced difficulty in securing sun loungers during their holiday at a hotel on the Greek island of “Kos.”
According to the case, the early occupation of the available loungers by other guests restricted the ability of the family, consisting of a husband, wife, and two children, to fully enjoy the outdoor spaces and relax during their stay.
Although the identity of the tourist was not disclosed in reports, he complained about the unavailability of loungers at the 384-room hotel from early morning hours (until 6 a.m. according to his claim), which negatively affected their leisure experience during their summer holiday in 2024.
It is noted that the family had paid approximately $8,500 for an 11-day trip at this hotel as part of their vacation in Greece.
