The Iranian Embassy in South Korea announced on Thursday that it “categorically rejects” any claims regarding the involvement of the Iranian armed forces in causing damage to a Korean vessel in the Strait of Hormuz.
The embassy stated that Tehran, since the beginning of tensions with the United States and Israel, has “repeatedly affirmed” that the Strait of Hormuz is “an integral part of its defensive strategy in confronting aggressors and their allies,” noting that developments in the security situation in the region naturally affect navigation conditions in this strategic waterway.
