Syrian President “Ahmad Al-Shar’a” Receives Actor “Jamal Suleiman” in Damascus

Syrian President Ahmad Al-Shar’a received actor Jamal Suleiman at the People’s Palace in the capital, Damascus, on Wednesday, in a meeting that addressed a range of national and developmental issues related to the future of the country.

Jamal Suleiman posted on his official Facebook page a photo of his meeting with the President, expressing his appreciation for the encounter. He stated: “I was honored to meet the President of the Republic and listened to several topics related to national interests, foremost among them the major developmental ambitions that would create a qualitative leap for Syria and for the lives of Syrian citizens.”

Suleiman added that the meeting was an important opportunity for him, as a Syrian citizen, to present his vision regarding several key issues, emphasizing that he discussed the importance of achieving transitional justice in parallel with comprehensive national reconciliation, which would contribute to building a more stable and cohesive future for Syria.

This meeting comes within the context of a sensitive political stage the country is going through, amid broad internal expectations for strengthening stability, supporting development tracks, and enhancing comprehensive national dialogue in a way that serves the interests of the Syrian people.

Al-Shar’a Reaffirms Syria’s Sovereignty and Territorial Integrity

In light of the delicate political phase Syria is experiencing, President Ahmad Al-Shar’a reiterated the Syrian state’s unwavering commitment to its territorial integrity and national sovereignty during his meeting with U.S. envoy Tom Barrack, in a move reflecting escalating political and diplomatic activity alongside current military developments on the ground.

During the meeting, which was attended by Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaybani, Al-Shar’a affirmed that Syria is proceeding toward fully consolidating its sovereignty over all its territories, stressing the importance of national dialogue during this critical phase and building the country’s future with the participation of all Syrians to enhance political and social stability.

The Syrian President also pointed to his directives to halt fire, calling on Arab tribes in the Jazira region to exercise calm—an indication of the leadership’s efforts to contain internal tensions while continuing military operations against Kurdish forces in several strategic areas in the north and east of the country.

Development, Dialogue, and a Broader National Vision

These developments come within a broader context aligned with the national and developmental directions previously discussed during President Al-Shar’a’s meeting with actor Jamal Suleiman in Damascus, which tackled issues of transitional justice, national reconciliation, and major development ambitions. This reflects the Syrian leadership’s focus on combining security stability, national dialogue, and long-term development.

The meeting with the U.S. envoy also discussed opportunities to enhance economic cooperation between the United States and Syria, alongside addressing regional developments—suggesting an anticipated political and economic openness within Syria’s reconstruction and development efforts.

On the ground, the Syrian army continues to advance in areas of the north and east, while the Ministry of Interior announced the deployment of its forces in the city of Al-Tabqah in Raqqa Governorate to reinforce security and stability, and to protect vital facilities—an indication of ongoing government efforts to extend administrative and security control over strategic areas.

Al-Shar’a Strengthens Syrian-Egyptian Relations and Pushes Toward Broader Economic and Regional Partnership

As part of the political and developmental initiatives led by President Ahmad Al-Shar’a to rebuild regional relations and enhance domestic stability, he expressed special appreciation for the Egyptian people for hosting Syrian refugees during the years of war, emphasizing the deep historical and humanitarian ties between the Syrian and Egyptian peoples.

During his meeting with a delegation from the Egyptian Chambers of Commerce Union in Damascus, the Syrian President conveyed his gratitude for what he described as the generous reception Syrians received in Egypt, noting that Egyptians presented a humanitarian model reflecting the authenticity of Arab relations, affirming that Syrians felt in Egypt as if they were among their own people.

Al-Shar’a explained that his personal and cultural connection to Egypt dates back to his upbringing, expressing his deep admiration for Egyptian identity—reflecting a political outlook geared toward strengthening Arab rapprochement, particularly with Cairo, as a key partner and influential player in regional stability.

Economy as a Gateway to Regional Stability

The Syrian President stressed that achieving economic stability in both Syria and Egypt constitutes a fundamental pillar for regional stability, affirming that economic cooperation between the two countries would directly impact security, political, and strategic issues.

This comes in conjunction with the convening of the first Syrian-Egyptian Economic Forum in Damascus, which aims to expand trade and investment cooperation and launch joint projects that support reconstruction and economic development.

Such initiatives align with the vision previously articulated by Al-Shar’a in his earlier meetings—whether with national figures such as actor Jamal Suleiman or with international officials—which focused on transitional justice, national reconciliation, and economic development, indicating a comprehensive strategy based on restoring internal stability, enhancing Arab and international openness, and bolstering Syria’s political and economic reconstruction paths.
